Drought and Famine often strikes some part of our country and we have experienced intolerable losses of lives and permanent damages of some people residing in those places where the impact of such incidence is significant. We believe it should be one of the roles and functions of the Church to intervene during such periods and play exemplary roles to support the needy communities. In 2002 Our church has involved in fund raising to respond to the drought and famine situation that took place in Bale area of the Oromia Region. The area belongs to Muslim communities and the Church has made relief assistance that Worth USD2500. In those places the Gospel of Jesus Christ was preached for more than 1000 people and according to the mission report of the church about 500 people have received Jesus Christ as their personal savior. Those who were saved were linked with the near by churches for follow up and subsequent supports. Had it not been for short of resources, it is our most desire to support such needy communities and preach the Gospel side by side.
Besides, street dwellers and prostitutes who work at night are being led to accept Jesus christ as their savior. The church also has a plan of developing them to be productive by giving them some training on different aspects so that they can have their own career to support themselves and those who depend on them.
