One day = 1,000 Years?

Psalm 90:4

"For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night."

II Peter 3:8

"But, Beloved Ones, never permit this one thing to be hidden or concealed from you: with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as one day."

A simile or metaphor IS NOT a statement of being. Neither one IS. It is not an equation where 1 day = 1,000 years with God; however, the case is that one day is AS or is LIKE one thousand years.

To say that one day IS a thousand years and then extrapolate that into millions and billions of years for the age of the universe is an absolutely illegitimate inference. There are possible inferences and necessary inferences. "One day is as a thousand years" is NOT even a possible inference here and it is CERTAINLY NOT a necessary inference.

Therefore, let us cease even to think that this is permissible as a possibility because it is not possible for it to be true, not in the Biblical verses stated above.

The Biblical record of creation is documented after the fall of Adam and Eve. We have been deprived of the information concerning the history of creation and the universe before the fall. And the history before the fall must be massive.

There will be at least some of these revelations documented here from time to time. It will not be completely exhaustive, but it shall be enlightening.

Grace to all of you and peace.
