PSALM 23 has been the most beloved Psalm of David to Christians for many centuries.

Since the Biblical Scriptures are about 1,000 pages in length, most translators have tried to translate the texts as briefly as possible while keeping the intended meanings of the text.

But they have missed out on many meanings that are in the Hebrew and Greek meanings of the words and phrases and sentences, all the meanings which clarify other nuances in the Biblical texts. The following is as close to how Psalm 23 should be translated, with all the meanings included according to the Hebrew lexicons.

PSALM 23

A Psalm of David

YAHWEH is my SHEPHERD: I shall not lack or need or decrease.

2 In green pastures, He makes me lie down and rest;

beside still waters, He Himself leads me there to drink;

3 my soul, He restores and brings me back to Himself;

He guides me into the paths of righteousness

For the sake of His Very Name.

4 Even though I walk through the shadow

of death and deep darkness, I fear no evil

Because You Yourself are with me.

Your Shepherd's Rod and Staff,

They comfort me compassionately.

5 You prepare and arrange a table before me

in the presence of my enemies;

You anoint my head with oil

and my cup is oversaturated.

6 Most assuredly prosperity and happiness and grace

shall pursue me and chase me down all the days of my life

and I shall return to The House Of Yahweh forever.

This is as close to the Hebrew as I could determine from the lexicons.
